綵 is composed of the BuShou of 糸 (silk) and 采 (color, pick) . 糸 is the pictogram of a roll of silk thread, while 采 depicts picking plants (flowers) with one hand, which means bright and colorful colors, so 綵 is used to represent colorful silk fabrics.
