The story of 終

end, finish

終 is composed of the BuShou of 糸(silk) and 冬(winter). The upper part of 冬 depicts a thread which is knotted at two ends, means end or finish, since 冬 also has the meaning of winter, 糸 is added to distinguish those two meanings.
