The story of 縫

sew, stitch, crack

縫 is composed of the BuShou of 糸(silk) and 逢(meet). 逢 means meeting, also means edge or brink, while 糸 means silk or thread, there is a crack between two edges, thread is needed to mend two edges together so both can meet each other.
