裕 is composed of the BuShou of 衣 (clothes) and 谷 (valley). 谷 is the picture of a valley between the mountains, which is usually the convergence of river and has the meaning of abundance. In ancient times, resources were scarce, people only made new clothes only when their income was more than enough.
