The story of 頂

頂 is composed of 丁(the picture of head and neck, means male adult, fourth of the ten Heavenly Stems(天干)) and 頁(page, leaf). 丁should be 貞, and 貞 should be 鼎(cauldron with three or four legs), therefore, 頂 is actually composed of 鼎 and 頁, since 鼎 is a cauldron supported by three legs, which is similar to head supported by neck, so beside support or contradiction, 頂 also means highest.
