The story of 趣

interesting

趣 is composed of 走 and 取. 走 depicts a man running, while 取 is the picture of a hand fetching an enemy’s ear after the soldier killed his enemy, since the soldier still in the battlefield, he must do it quick, so 趣 is used to describe something urgent or fast. On the other hand, victory in war is a kind of pleasure, but pleasure always leave fast, so 趣 also has the meaning of happiness.
